In many schools,
there are situations when 7th & 8th graders take high school level courses
that are to be included on their high school transcript and in their high school
cumulative GPA once they move on to high school. Those courses need to be
differentiated from the non-high school courses so that they do NOT get
inactivated during the year end processes. This can easily be done by utilizing
the coursemaster field titled “Sequence Code C135”.
To prevent the high
school level courses from being inactivated:
•Go into the coursemaster and locate the courses that you want to keep active on high school transcripts.
•Locate the Sequence Code C135 field. Code it with a Y.
•The next time you compute GPA, any final grade that is entered in that class will be transferred to the transcripts along with the Y in the Sequence Code C135 field. When the year-end process to inactivate transcripts is run, all of the courses from the selected grade level and school year will be inactivated except the ones that have the Y in the Sequence Code C135 field.
