How to Change Login and Teacher Name

If a teacher gets married/divorced -OR- if there is a staff change, here are the steps to change the teacher’s name and login if your school uses all/part of the teacher’s name as the login for SDS software:

     Follow directions to add the new teacher code that will represent the teacher’s name. 

     Click on the Data Entry and Changes folder.

     Click on Master File & Code File Changes.

     Select “Scheduling (Current Year)” in the Application drop box.

     Select “Course Master - Current Year (Basic Fields)” in the entry options drop box.

     In the Other Field drop box, select “Teacher Code”.

     In the Other Value drop box, select the original (old) teacher code for the teacher who has the name change or who has left/retired.

This should display only the courses taught by this teacher.

     Click on the name of one of the courses on the left side of the screen.

     In the teacher code field, select the NEW teacher code from the drop down list in the Teacher Code field.

     Click the http://help.schooloffice.com/helpconsole/SDSStudentHelp/images/SaveIcon.png to save your changes.

The course that you just changed will disappear from the list since it is no longer taught by the original teacher.

     Repeat the teacher code change for each course taught by the old teacher.  When the list is empty on the left side of the screen, you have finished the work.

Note: All grade books created by the original teacher code will have ownership transferred to the new teacher name.
