Save the Report

     After creating the file, it will appear at the top of the screen. Click the “Open” file folder button shown below in column “Open/Send”. Choose to save the file. Navigate to where you want to save the file, example: My Desktop or My Documents.

     Once the file is saved, if you wish to open it and check it before sending it to the state, use My Computer or Window Explorer to navigate to the file. Right click on it, choose Open With and choose Notepad. This will open the file in the format required by the state so that you can check that it contains the correct students and data elements.

Note:  it is not recommended to open a CSV (comma separated values) file in Excel.  If you have text values that have leading zeros (i.e. code “01”), Excel will drop the leading zero if you save it from that program.
